Once again, I apologize for photo irregularity. These things happen. I am back with an artistic masterpiece. Not the photo, but rather, the subject of the photo.



This guy started as a ninja-bread cookie, but upon realizing that ninja-shaped gingerbread cookies look just like hockey goalies, Greg repurposed him.

Another hockey one. This one is incredibly blurred, and the frame is terrible, but I still love the photo. This is a perfect example of the lack of defense Greg gets while playing for Dead River. For the record he blocked whatever shot/shots came from this scenario. Although, I think the frame shows that I was a little nervous about what was going to come of this one...

I can't claim that today's photo is spectacular by any means. I am trying to figure out how to take good hockey pictures which is extremely challening, considering I want a very fast shutter speed, but I also need to let a lot of light in. This is actually from the second or third batch of hockey attempts. I think they are getting better, but I still have a lot of room for improvement.



Mostly I just love this photo because the goalie's feet are both off the ground.

So it turns out, I spent the weekend in Boston and this was the only thing I managed to take a photo of, aside from a few shots of Roton. I really like how this dead plant looks though.

Finally! My earlier photos of these fluffy things were lacking in proper white balance. Before they were looking grey and off-color. I fixed it though, as you can tell from the nice golden colors in this photo.

I like this photo because it is almost like abstract art, instead of some fluffy things I saw growing by the side of the road. With the low sun, the fluffy things seemed to have a halo around them, and this picture most closely captures that effect.

This one is nearly my favorite of the batch. I certainly like the frame best, but there is one more thing I wish I had changed, stay tuned for two more photos to find out what.

I've seen these big fluffy things in several areas, and when I saw this large grouping I had to go back and take some photos. I am also trying to avoid the pre-set modes on my camera, because I'm thinking the best way to learn is to just jump in and start going all manual, all the time.

This is not a favorite picture by any means, as far as quality goes. But honestly, you would think a cat would want to actually get the mouse and not just watch it like that.

Tree and clouds. I was changing the brightness of this shot to get a photo with defined clouds, but not make the tree a complete silhouette.

This pumpkin intensified my desire to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas. I was surprised to see a couple pumpkins carved in just this way.

Twenty Six: country road revisited

I tried changing this photo to black and white, but then I found a couple other color-changing options and went with 'antique'. I like this photo much much more with these softer colors. Here is the original photo for comparison.

Another view of Jack in the apple crate. I might like this one more, with most of the box in the frame rather than the previous with all of the foliage filling the frame.

This is a tree on the shore of Lake Ontario on the Oswego campus.

Vermont in the fall. This is the view from Hogback, at the scenic viewpoint along the road. Apparently you can see four states from here on a clear day.

A bonfire at Josiah's parent's house in Norwich. This was taken immediately after I commented on preferring natural-looking poses. I have been proven wrong though, because I love this photo.

A small country road in New Hampshire. I just had to stop to get a photo of this road, but the photos didn't really turn out as picturesque as I was thinking the scene ought to be. I probably should have tried it in b&w.

Often it is my goal to make my photos look as close to how my eye sees things as possible. This is certainly not the case with this photo. I used the "silhouette" mode, which created this really awesome photo.

I can't say this is an all-time favorite, but this one had to make the list just because it was nicely different from all the others. This was a plane flying over Lake Willoughby, doing barrel rolls.

This photo was taken at Trail's End on Lake Willoughby in northern Vermont. I really enjoy the colors of this photo, although I'm not sure why the corners are blackened.
